History

ALAP was founded in 2005 by members of the Alabama State Bar Board of Bar Commissioners as a response to an increased need for lawyer assistance programs across the state. The program has since grown from a one-person effort to now include an office staffed with highly knowledgeable and dedicated professionals, as well as numerous volunteers from local bars throughout the state. ALAP works in collaboration with theAlabama State Bar Center for Professional Responsibilityto provide confidential support tailored specifically to meet the individual needs of lawyers in Alabama dealing with personal or professional issues.
