What does ALAA mean in AUSTRALIAN

The Australian Labradoodle Association of America (ALAA) is a non-profit organization with the mission to promote responsible and ethical breeding standards, ensure health and welfare of Labradoodles, and ensure that Labradoodles remain true to breed type. ALAA also seeks to preserve the unique qualities associated with the Labradoodle breed and provide education and support for its members.

The ALAA was founded in 2004 and has been actively promoting the health, well-being, temperament, and adherence to its breed standard ever since.

Membership in ALAA is not mandatory to be an approved ALCA Breeder; however, all Breeders are invited and encouraged to become members if they wish to register their puppies as ALAA registered puppies. Membership provides many benefits such as continuing education opportunities and access to our extensive network of other breeder members who share similar goals of preserving Labrador lines through responsible breeding practices.

As a member of the ALAA you will receive a welcome packet which includes several informational brochures on breed specific information, as well as your registration materials along with instructions on how you can register your litter or individual puppy. You will also have access to our website which includes numerous tools and resources such as breeder forms, contract templates & puppy counselor listings; online courses & discussion forums; social media networks; show results; information about upcoming litters; general announcements from our Board Members & staff; plus much more!

An easily searchable list can be found on our website featuring all current Members who meet our high standards. When evaluating potential breeders for your new pup please consider criteria including but not limited to Breeder Reputation/Experience/References, Health Contract Guarantees/Testing Done On their Lines, Parent Temperament Evaluation Protocols & Space Provided For Puppies & Adults Dogs in their program as well as Designated Puppy Socialization Program Protocols In Place prior To Placement Of Your Puppy.

Yes - In addition to registering a name title for your pup there may be additional requirements depending on who you purchase from such as sending in specific documentation related directly to that litter or individual pup’s registration eligibility status. All Breeders should notify you up front what these additional charges may include so please inquire accordingly.

Yes – Upon completion of paperwork submission for registration all required documents will be issued by mail or fax within approximately 10 business days from receipt. Please Note that any Litter Registered Through another Registry Must Be Transferred To The ALAA In Order To Receive Registration Papers And Are Subject To Our Additional Fees.

Yes – Once your puppy passes not only our Health Requirements But Also Completes Their Show Titling Requirements You Will Be Eligible To Apply For A Champion Title Or Any Other Performance Achievement Recognized Through The ALAB.
