What does GYRO mean in HOBBIES

The mission of GYRO is to promote STEM education and encourage not just students but also educators to explore rocketry as a tool for learning. GYRO helps students develop technical knowledge and skills needed for success in higher education and future career paths.

GYRO works through local chapters that offer educational programs, competitions, activities and workshops to encourage young people to become involved in the world of rocketry. Through these resources, its members are able to gain access to rockets, motors and parts needed for building rockets while learning how they function.

Anyone interested in developing their interest in rocketry can join the GYRO. Membership includes both individuals or teams ranging from middle schoolers all the way up to college students.

GYRO hosts several kinds of competition across age categories such as Design Competitions, Onsite Rocket Contests and International Challenges. These different competitions test various aspects of rocketry such as design creativity, flight performance, accuracy & reliability and even public relations skills.

Joining GYRO provides youth with a platform to engage with and learn from experts in the field while exposing them to the incredible world of high-performance model rocketry. It's also a great opportunity for networking with others who have similar interests while having fun exploring topics related to aerospace engineering.
