What does AALG mean in AFRICAN

The goals of AALG are to increase opportunities for African Americans in Greenville by creating leadership development programs and advocating for public policies that create equitable access to educational, affordable housing, employment, healthcare and other resources.

AALG provides leadership training and learning opportunities through their youth programs that foster critical thinking, career exploration and network building with financial literacy courses and mentorship from local professionals. They also offer professional development workshops that focus on topics such as effective communication, advocacy skills, business management skills and more.

AALG offers several programs including the Thrive Scholarship Program which provides college scholarships to local high school students to ensure they have adequate funds for higher education; their Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program which provides entrepreneurs with hands-on technical assistance and business support; their Financial Literacy Coaching program which helps individuals gain knowledge about their finances; as well as community forums where citizens can share ideas on how to work together to address issues in their neighborhoods.

People interested in getting involved with AALG can volunteer at their events or participate in one of their programs. They can also donate money or become a member of the organization if they would like to join its efforts to promote equity for African Americans in Greenville's economy and politics.
