The Great Tragedy refers to the events of September 11, 2001, when terrorists hijacked four planes and targeted three major U.S. sites, killing nearly 3,000 people and causing hundreds of billions in economic damage.

The attack on the World Trade Center had immense repercussions for the global economy as well as for international relations. Following 9/11, many countries toughened security protocols both domestically and abroad. On a more personal level, it changed how many people view their own safety and security.

In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, New York City was in shock and severely impacted by the tragedy. Despite claims that life could return to normal within days of the attack occurring, it took much longer for residents of NYC to truly recover. It is estimated that it took at least two years before NYC began to feel like it was back to “normal” again.

There are numerous memorials dedicated to those who lost their lives in 9/11 across New York City and around the world. The most iconic example being One World Trade Center which stands 1776 feet tall honoring America’s independence day in 1975 with its construction completed in 2014. Other notable memorials include Reflecting Absence at The National September 11 Memorial & Museum and Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville Pennsylvania which commemorates United Airlines Flight 93 victims who lost their lives during that fateful day on September 11th, 2001

Losing a loved one during such a horrible tragedy was devastating for families all over America and beyond. Beyond losing someone they love dearly without warning or closure these families also had to face financial struggles due to loss of income from bread winner/suddenly single parent households while navigating through medical bills due to gravely injured victims or mental health treatment due to PTSD from surviving this incident.

Yes, terrorists strategically chose their targets based on symbolic value along with population density . Of course no one can know what goes through terrorist's minds but some speculate that attacking NY city , home of Wall Street symbolized attacking capitalism while hitting Washington D C , home of government represented an attempt at crippling America’s power . Lastly Pentagon , an obvious military target represents a govt military response against perpetrators.

After 9/11 happened many countries offered support either financially or emotionally including Canada which deployed over 4000 troops , France donated blood despite having a longstanding rivalry with US Spanish government sent teams of psychologists American Red Cross raised over 600 million dollars . Also countless individuals also paid respects visiting ground zero throughout months following attacks across America.

As a reaction towards this tragedy US government implemented several laws such as Homeland Security Act ( 2002) which created secretary cabinet post Dept Of Homeland Security (DHS) as well as numerous other counter-terror legislation like Patriot act (2001). Similarly other nations altered laws too like UK introducing Anti-Terrorism Crime And Security Act(2001) Germany enacting Terrorism Protection Law(2002) Russia introducing Counter-terrorism law(2006). All these actions aimed at preventing similar attacks from happening again.
