What does AJTC mean in COMMUNITY

The Agenda for a Just and Thriving Community (AJTC) is a global initiative aimed at promoting economic and social resilience by focusing on long-term progress of communities. It provides practical tools for local communities to build justice, peace and well-being.

The AJTC was launched in 2014 by the UN Development Programme's Social Innovation Practice in partnership with other organizations such as The World Bank, Oxfam and Ashoka.

The AJTC provides guidance through their toolkit which consists of seven components including building civic engagement, developing leadership skills, strengthening access to justice, tackling climate change adaptation, creating enabling environments, preventing violent conflicts, and sustainable infrastructure development. Additionally they offer additional comprehensive case studies to aid in implementation.

The AJTC benefits individuals and organizations from diverse backgrounds including local governments, civil society organizations, women's groups, youth groups and research institutions who are working towards achieving economic progress as well as social justice on both national and local level.

There are several ways that you can get involved with the AJTC.
