What does AJA mean in MARTIAL ARTS

The American Ju-Jitsu Association (AJA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of traditional ju-jitsu.

Any individual who has an interest in studying and training in the martial art of ju-jitsu may become a member of the AJA.

Members of the AJA enjoy access to exclusive training materials, seminars, workshops, events and competitions, as well as discounts on select products from participating vendors. Additionally, members may receive instructor certification through the AJA's programs and can join multiple AJA affiliate clubs for additional instruction and practice opportunities.

Instructors must complete a series of coursework provided by the AJA, which includes both online learning modules and practical application instruction. Upon successful completion of these courses, instructors may apply for official certification with their local or regional branch leader or contact headquarters directly for more information about certification requirements.

Traditional ju-jitsu techniques taught through the AJA include joint locks, throws, strikes and submissions, grappling methods designed to subdue an attacker without using lethal force. Many classes also focus on self defense strategies such as how to handle an attack in various environments or scenarios.
