What does GDBC mean in SHIPPING & SAILING

A dragon boat is a human-powered watercraft that was traditionally used as part of ceremonial or spiritual rituals in Chinese culture. Today, it has become popular as a competitive sport and recreational pastime throughout the world.

The GDBC offers races, practices, and other special events such as clinics and fundraisers. Races involve teams of paddlers competing against each other while practicing their technique on the water. Special events are usually held throughout the year that allows members to try different skills or take part in something unique with their team.

The GDBC welcomes anyone who would like to join regardless of age, experience level or physical condition—all are welcome! All that is required is enthusiasm for learning this unique sport and respecting one another's differences.

The GDBC uses Regatta 1 Pro dragon boats which measure 41ft long by 5ft wide with 10 seats set up side-by-side down its length; 9 seats for paddlers who stroke on one side at a time while 1 seat houses both drummer and flag catcher who face forward towards the prow (front). These dragon boats are equipped with life jackets and safety equipment to ensure everyone's safety on every race or practice session.
