What does GCAR mean in ASSOCIATIONS

GCAR stands for Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors. It is a professional organization that serves its members in the Greater Chattanooga area through training opportunities, resources and access to the real estate market.

Prospective members need to fill out an application on the GCAR website and pay annual dues. They will then be notified when their application has been approved and become a member of GCAR.

Membership benefits include access to education and designations programs; networking events; discounts on products and services; legislative advocacy; access to legal advice from real estate attorneys; free REALTOR® Triangle magazine subscriptions; special programs such as REALTOR® Safety Program; listing/sales data from MLS Technology Systems Inc.; liability insurance discounts through NAR's REALTOR Benefits® Program; group health insurance rates through National Group Insurance Associates (NGIA); updates about local government regulations related to real estate transactions; and professional recognition awards.

Every year, representatives from the membership are elected by their peers at GCAR's Annual Meeting & Trade Show to serve on its board of directors and committees. The board sets policy and direction for the association, while committees plan activities, oversee projects and provide guidance in areas such as education, governmental affairs, marketing & communications, technology, etc.

Through its various initiatives such as participating with advocacy groups like state-wide organizations like Tennessee REALTORS®, lobbying state/federal governments to promote home ownership as well as programs like RPAC (Realtor Political Action Committee) that encourage political involvement by contributing funds raised by member dues towards candidates that support private property rights or other issues affecting homeownership — activities all intended to further benefit our members! Additionally they host conferences, workshops and seminars throughout the year focused on helping our Nashville real estate agents excel in their profession and rewarding those who have done so through awards ceremonies at each yearly conference!
