History

Governor Andres Pascual College (GAPC) was established in 1906, when it was only known as San Pablo Private School System or SPPSS. It was founded by Don Perfecto del Apilar and Doña Anastacia Reyes. In 1927, the school was recognized by the Department of Public Instruction as San Pablo City High School (SPCHS). In 1944 during World War II, the school was destroyed by Japanese bombs however it revitalized in 1945 by its rector-founder Canon Federico J. Aguirre y Cueva who named it Governor Andres Pascual College (GAPC), after General Vicente Lukban‘s consort in Samar Island during the Spanish regime. During that time GAPC also provided some collegiate courses to produce local graduates with advanced degrees such as Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Education.
