What does AIM mean in INTERNATIONAL

Agape International Missions (AIM) is an international, faith-based humanitarian organization that works to fight poverty and injustice in the world’s poorest communities. AIM uses a holistic approach to create lasting change by empowering people with the knowledge and tools they need to break free from poverty.

AIM helps end poverty in three distinct ways. First, it works with local partners in villages to provide access to life-saving medical care, education, nutrition, clean water, agriculture training, and other essential resources. Second, AIM partners with local leaders to help them develop solutions tailored to the unique needs of their community. Lastly, AIM equips individuals and families on how best to reduce their vulnerability and build skills for economic stability and self-sufficiency.

In addition to providing direct services such as healthcare and education, AIM works with individuals and communities by connecting them with resources they can use for sustainable development. This includes connecting communities with representatives from businesses that can open up employment opportunities for residents; building networks between entrepreneurs who can learn from each other; and providing access to financial services like microloans or savings accounts that otherwise would not have been accessible without AIM’s assistance.

Currently, AIM serves impoverished communities in Cambodia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, India, Malawi, Mexico & Honduras in Central America and Sierra Leone in West Africa. The organization is always looking for new areas where its work is needed most so this list may expand over time.

The team at AIM consists of dedicated staff members based out of offices around the world as well as hundreds of volunteers who travel abroad each year to provide hands on assistance. Additionally there are thousands of donors around the world whose generous contributions make all of this possible.

AIM accepts both monetary donations via online or through mail as well as non-monetary donations such as office supplies or health kits which include items like soap, washcloths or sanitary pads needed by impoverished individuals or families living overseas. Donors also have the option of sponsoring a child which provides funds monthly for basic needs like food and education while building a relationship across cultures through letters exchanged between donor and child.

There are many opportunities available if you are interested in volunteering your time at AIM including leading short term trips overseas or volunteering locally through our regional centers throughout the United States. Additionally there are many ways you can volunteer remotely - writing informational newsletters about our programs or assisting us with fundraising efforts just being two examples.
