What does FTR mean in RACING

Flat track racing, also known as American speedway racing, is a motorcycle sport popular in the US and Canada. This type of speedway competition sees riders competing on oval-shaped dirt tracks ranging in size from half mile to two miles long. The goal for each rider is to complete a set number of laps as quickly as possible while maneuvering around tight bends and jumps.

Flat track races typically range from four to twelve laps depending on the length of the track. Longer tracks will usually require more laps to be completed while shorter tracks may only need four or five. Riders get three practice laps before starting the race, allowing them to familiarize themselves with the course and strategize their approach.

Some mandatory items include protective clothing such as boots, gloves, helmets and leathers; as well as medical equipment including back protectors or neck braces.
