What does FSDA mean in DEVELOPMENT

The Foundation for Sustainable Development in Africa (FSDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating sustainable development initiatives and promoting resilient economic growth across the African continent. We are committed to advancing the positive transformation of African economies and communities through innovative partnerships and investments. Our goal is to create pathways out of poverty, provide access to quality education, and encourage environmentally conscious projects that create shared value.

Organizations, businesses, individuals, governments, and other entities based in or operating within Africa can apply for initiatives supported by FSDA. Anyone with an idea for a sustainable project with potential for impact is welcome to apply!

Yes, applicants must submit an initial concept outlining their initiative before submitting a full proposal. Following submission of the concept outline and associated documentation, applicants may be invited to further develop their proposal into a full business plan or feasibility study upon which further decisions can be made regarding potential support from FSDA.

To be eligible for consideration, proposals should demonstrate clear evidence of delivering positive social impact as well as clear economic benefits. Further information on eligibility criteria can be found on our website here.

FSDA provides grants ranging from $1K-$50K USD depending on the type of project proposed. Other forms of support beyond grant funding may also be available such as mentoring services or technical assistance depending on the scope of the project proposed.

Yes any recipient organisations must agree to adhere to best practice standards in line with internationally recognised measures when receiving funds from FSDA including agreeing not engage in activities involving corruption or bribery and being subject to financial auditing requirements if applicable.

Yes participating organisations need to report back regularly on progress made by providing periodic reports within predetermined timelines as established in their agreements with us when they receive funding from us.

Yes applications may be submitted at anytime throughout the year but we recommend only applying once every cycle (6 months) unless your proposal falls into a particularly timely topic/initiative that arises outside this timeframe.
