What does FOCR mean in CANCER

FOCR advocates for patients by working to foster collaboration between academia, industry, and government to increase access to treatments and accelerate progress in research. They also lead initiatives that bring together stakeholders and break down silos in order to advance high impact opportunities with potential to change the cancer landscape.

FOCR uses a model of engagement which combines public-private partnerships, policy-making, stakeholder convening, and grant programs. Through these activities, FOCR has funded over million for novel research projects as well as innovation grants designed to facilitate new collaborations between researchers and clinicians.

Any individual who supports the mission of FOCR can join as a Member or contribute as a Supporter. Members have voting rights at meetings while Supporters are welcome to participate in events and contribute funds or resources towards achieving FOCR's goals.

There are many ways you can support Friends of Cancer Research including becoming a Member or Supporter; attending an event; donating financially; volunteering your time; helping spread awareness about cancer research; or acting on behalf of the organization at advocacy events such as Capitol Hill Days or DC Science Communications Week.

Additionally, you may be able to get involved with special initiatives that require additional input from supporters such as focus groups or surveys.
