What does FOBC mean in COLLEGES

Friends of Barefoot College (FOBC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, supporting and amplifying the impact of Barefoot College's life-changing work in providing educational, economic, and development opportunities to rural communities in developing countries.

FOBC was founded by the same visionary who created the Barefoot College - Mr. Bunker Roy. Both organizations share a common vision and mission; to enable rural self-reliance through education and skill sharing. FOBC works closely with the college to help them reach their goals faster by providing additional financial support and other resources.

FOBC supports projects that are focused on improving access for rural households to clean energy, healthcare services, sustainable livelihoods, housing & sanitation solutions, community outreach initiatives etc., as part of its commitment towards achieving its mission of enabling rural self-reliance.

Yes. In addition to providing financial support for various projects in developing countries, FOBC also offers direct donations which can be used for purchasing tools and materials necessary for implementing these projects. Furthermore, volunteers from all over the world can join us anytime as they play a crucial role in making our work successful by committing time & effort where it is most needed!

Our main beneficiaries include women and youth from extremely poor backgrounds who live in remote villages around the world. We provide access to basic necessities such as clean drinking water, electricity, sanitation facilities and education; which enable them to lead more dignified lives while also having access to greater economic opportunities & well-being.

Projects supported by Friends Of Barefoot College should focus on bringing about social change at grassroots level through initiatives like providing access to technology & infrastructure that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable for poorer sections of society living in developing countries. Projects must demonstrate how these resources could bring about meaningful change within the local community & create economic opportunities for those who need it most.

Yes, we do not accept any applications related to military equipment or projects promoting hatred/inequality among religions or caste/ethnic groups living together in harmony with each other within a particular geographical area as this goes against our core values as an organization working towards enabling rural self-reliance through education & skill sharing.
