The Artists Alliance of the Hill Country (AAHC) was founded in 2012 by artist Leslie Rowe-Israelson. She saw the potential of her vision when she brought together three other Austin area-based artists–Doug Barragan, Larry Steele and Lisa Sudar—who shared her enthusiasm for advancing the arts in Central Texas. AAHC’s primary mission is to promote artistic expression through education, financial assistance and collaborative networks among professionals in diverse media. AAHC serves emerging professional artists through mentoring programs led by experienced mentors who have been involved in creative projects or have developed successful practices locally or globally.
