What does FCFA mean in ASSOCIATIONS

The Fairfax County Flag Association (FCFA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering an appreciation of national, state, and county flags in the Fairfax County area. The FCFA provides educational programming in flag identification, etiquette, and proper handling and display of flags.

The FCFA promotes a wide range of activities related to the appreciation of flags including seminars on flag history, flag ceremonies, an annual flag parade, competitions among local schools for best designed school flags, and field trips to historical sites related to American flags.

Membership in the FCFA is open to all individuals who share our enthusiasm for promoting patriotism through understanding and appreciation of national, state and county flags. There are no age requirements or membership fees for joining.

Yes! Each year we host a competition among local schools where students can submit their own designs for a school flag. Winners receive a special prize from the association as well as recognition from their peers and teachers. We also offer special education sessions that focus on teaching young people about patriotic symbols such as flags and other items seen at rallies or events.

The FCFA was founded in 1997 with just a few members sharing their love for American Patriotism but over time has grown into an organization with both youth and adult members committed to educating others about proper display and respect towards US Flags, State Flags etc...
