What does FCCP mean in CONSULTING

The Fuqua Client Consulting Practicum (FCCP) is an experiential learning program that pairs teams of MBA students with a client to address a business opportunity or challenge. Through FCCP, teams have the opportunity to gain real-world experience and develop their consulting skills, while serving as consultants for a company.

The FCCP typically runs for approximately 10 weeks during each academic year, starting with training at the beginning of the year and ending in the early months of spring semester.

Participation in FCCP is open to all full-time MBA students who are enrolled at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and have completed two semesters of coursework.

Teams are given an actual problem or project that has been voiced by a client company or organization. Projects vary depending on needs and interests but include areas such as marketing, operations, strategy, organizational design, product launches, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and more.

By participating in FCCP, you will hone your analytical skillset across several different industries while also developing presentation and communication skills that will be beneficial in consulting projects throughout your professional career. Additionally, you will gain insight into various corporate cultures as well as learn how to effectively collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds.

Yes! Each team is assigned an industry mentor who provides valuable feedback throughout the duration of your project. These industry experts are often executives from leading companies within your respective field whom provide guidance about trends in their industry and any particular challenges faced by your team's project.

After submitting your application online, each potential participant will be invited to participate in an interview session conducted by current practitioner partners who will select qualified candidates based on their prior experience and knowledge they bring to bear on consulting engagements. Interviews last between 20-30 minutes depending on where you are located geographically.

Yes! Many companies see participation in FCCP as an indication that you have a solid grasp on professional practices related to consulting; it shows employers that you have successfully taken part in this challenging program which gives you a leg up when it comes time for interviewing post-graduation.
