What Is FCCE?

FCCE stands for Florida Consortium of Clinical Educators. It was founded by the University of South Florida (USF), in partnership with several other universities around the state, including Nova Southeastern University (NSU), Barry University, Larkin University College of Medicine, and Florida Atlantic University (FAU). This consortium works together to support clinical education in all its forms at each institution–from medical schools to nursing schools–in an effort to provide students with a comprehensive learning experience which encompasses both academic research and practical application. This means that while students gain exposure through courses taught within their own respective universities, they also have access to lectures hosted by other institutions as well as networking opportunities across different student bodies.

What Does FCCE Do?

The main goal of FCCE is to foster collaborations across institutions so that students can benefit from shared resources such as lecture series and volunteering experiences. On top of this, members also participate in activities such as healthcare conferences; mentorship programs; workshops; webinars; internships; advocacy campaigns; diversity initiatives; alumni events; fundraising efforts; and much more. In order to further develop clinical educators’ abilities and skillsets, FCCE also provides members with professional development resources such as one-on-one coaching sessions or seminars focused on specific areas related to teaching or healthcare administration. All these activities are conducted under the auspices of creating highly competent clinical professionals who will go on to make positive contributions in their respective fields upon graduation.
