What does FCB mean in PERFORMING ARTS

First Class Bhangra (FCB) is a competitive dance team whose mission it is to share and promote Punjabi culture through their energetic dance routines.

Potential candidates must demonstrate mastery in various bhangra techniques such as intricate footwork, hand gestures, and prop use during an audition process. In addition to technical proficiency, members must also demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to upholding cultural values of Punjabi culture.

Members of First Class Bhangra have won major competitions throughout North America and Europe in several cities including Montreal, Chicago, Los Angeles, London and Toronto. In addition to stage performances at competitions or shows, FCB's core members give workshop sessions on bhangra technique.

For competitions or stage performances, FCB usually uses live dhol percussionists who provide a mix of contemporary tunes with classic remixed bhangra songs by renowned artists such as Jazzy B.

Firstly, all members have a diverse background that allows them to add an international flavor when creating new choreography. Secondly, the team embraces innovation while still staying true to traditional elements of bhangra dancing like intricate arm movements and hand gestures with props like swords or sticks for style points.
