What does FAP mean in UNCLASSIFIED

FAP stands for Feminist Art Power. It is a global initiative focused on creating a safe and inviting atmosphere for anyone, no matter their sex, race, or gender identity to express themselves through art. Recognizing the need for diversity within the art industry, FAP strives to support all forms of creativity by promoting collaboration and elevating the voices of underrepresented artists around the world.

Anyone can participate in Feminist Art Power! Our aim is to create an environment that encourages expression from people of all backgrounds and identities. Regardless of your gender identity, race or social status, you are welcome to join us as we celebrate each other's unique talents and visions.

At FAP, we recognize the power of collaboration between individuals with different creative visions. We encourage connection through workshops and events designed to foster learning and growth among our members. By sharing ideas and resources, our members are able to achieve greater depth and breadth in their artwork than they could alone. Through this type of support network, FAP inspires artists to take bold risks in their creative pursuits while also providing a safe space for experimentation.

In many aspects of society there exists a lack of awareness about topics such as sexism and racism which can lead to exclusionary practices in the arts industry. At FAP we strive to ensure that everyone feels empowered regardless of social standing or background. To do this, we organize protests against oppressive systems which suppress marginalized voices and seek out opportunities for exhibition so that these stories can be told. We also provide grants and resources whenever possible to ensure access for those who have been traditionally excluded from accessing funds or recognition due to their identity.

At Feminist Art Power, we believe that focus should be put on activities rather than words when it comes to advocating for change within the art industry. As such, we host monthly discussions centered around issues such as intersectional feminism and representation in media; audience participation events where everyone gets involved; skill-sharing workshops created by artists; screenings dedicated specifically to feminist films; exhibitions showcasing inspiring projects; plus many more creative initiatives aimed at challenging traditional ideals around what it means to be an artist today.

While historically some works have been deemed “feminist” due its subject matter or use language rooted in politics - this isn't always indicative within current day context where feminism is intersectional across all realms including style & presentation. As such there is no one particular look associated with feminism - instead it is up the individual artist how they want portray themselves & their message through their artwork.
