About the Forum
The AGLF was founded as a non-profit in 2020 by a collective of committed professionals from across Asia and beyond, who share an interest in promoting intercultural understanding and empowerment through education, research, public discussion, policymaking, and advocacy. We strive to create a safe space for open dialogue between all stakeholders: governments, civil society organizations, businesses and entrepreneurs, international bodies and others. By creating such networks we hope to provide tangible solutions that advance positive development agendas within Asian countries while also having meaningful impacts on societies at large.
Objectives
At its heart AGLF is committed to creating an environment where knowledge exchange can flourish. We have identified three primary objectives that we strive to accomplish through our work: collaboration between stakeholders; capacity building initiatives; and visibility on issues facing Asian countries today. Through our various programs we seek to foster dialogue among participants around key topics such as leadership development, sustainable development goals (SDGs), human rights protection and implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (UNSDSD). Additionally we are actively engaged in providing access to resources required for successful implementation of innovative projects or initiatives focused on addressing key regional challenges such as poverty alleviation or climate change mitigation. Finally our commitment is also extended towards providing platforms which facilitate visibility of promising projects or opportunities targeting specific geographical regions or industry sectors.
