What does EUEE mean in EDUCATIONAL

EUEE aims to promote an understanding of the complexity of urban environmental education by examining topics such as youth participatory action research, climate change communication in cities, urban green spaces and health, citizen science initiatives, community-based education programs, and policy initiatives. It also seeks to investigate questions of equity and inclusion within the context of city-level environmental education engagements. We welcome submissions from a range of methodological approaches including but not limited to qualitative methods, quantitative surveys/experiments/models, legal discourse analysis, spatial analysis and visual methods. Perspectives from experienced practitioners are highly valuable in addition to more formal academic papers.

EUEE also hopes to foster a platform for dialogue between different stakeholders that ensures meaningful engagement between practitioners and policymakers at the local level. As such we invite contributions from practitioners looking for insights into their own experiences with urban environmental educational projects and activities as well as policy makers engaged with implementing new initiatives or generating data on existing projects.

Finally EUEE offers a forum for critical reflections on the field itself. What role can urban environmental education play in creating more just, inclusive cities? How can it create conversations across multiple stakeholders? How do our current theories need updating? What historical legacies must be addressed within a frame of urban ecojustice? Authors engaging with these questions are encouraged to submit their work here.
