The procedure typically involves local anaesthesia and sedation while the patient lies in either their side or back position depending on their condition. A tiny incision is made in the groin area through which Catheters and wires are inserted under X-ray guidance towards the affected artery. These carry a cylindrical metal mesh tube (the Stent Graft) with fabric lining inside that gets deployed at the correct location where it immediately takes effect. This process requires very precise movements from both the doctor and technician to ensure safety during the procedure.

Depending on how complex your case is, you should expect 1 - 2 hours from start to finish for your procedure. This includes preparation time beforehand as well as recovery afterwards.
