What does ESFC mean in EUROPEAN

The European Social Forum of Cyprus (ESFC) is an independent, non-profit association based in Nicosia, Cyprus. It was established to promote dialogue and exchange between social movements, labour organizations, civil society actors and other stakeholders on issues related to economic and social justice in Europe. ESFC has a strong focus on grass-roots organizing initiatives aimed at building solidarity and advocating for progressive change.

The ESFC is committed to ensuring that economic and social justice remain high on the agenda among policy makers in Europe by promoting a culture of collective action, participation and cross-border collaboration. Our core values include democracy, sustainability, diversity, respect for human rights and gender equality.

The ESFC organizes events such as conferences, workshops, seminars and networking meetings with a focus on enhancing public debate on socio-economic issues. We also offer information on current developments in European policy making relating to economics, employment, welfare and inequality. In addition we provide advice on advocacy strategies for social organisations to use in their campaigns.

Our events are open to anyone interested in learning more about regional current affairs and engaging in debates around EU policies affecting citizens' lives. We invite academics, researchers, professionals from various sectors as well as activists from grassroots movements across Europe who have an interest in contributing towards creating positive change within the region.

The ESFC works closely with different organizations including trade unions, political parties and NGOs at both local and national level across Europe in order to achieve its objectives. We build strong working relationships with these partners by developing joint programmes of activities as well as sharing research results gathered from our various work streams.

Although there is no exact dress code applicable at all times during our events we do recommend that if you intend to present yourself professionally then smart casual wear would be appropriate when attending any formal event hosted by us.
