What does EPS mean in UNIVERSITIES

EPS is an academic exchange programme specifically designed for students of engineering. It offers students the opportunity to study and work together with peers from different cultures in various European countries. The semester-long project gives them the chance to gain valuable skills related to international teamwork, cross-cultural communication, language proficiency and project management, all while enjoying a unique international experience.

The European Project Semester is open to any student currently enrolled on a Bachelor’s or Master’s course in Engineering or related disciplines. Applicants must have completed a minimum of two semesters of university studies before starting their EPS project. They must also hold a valid passport and be able to obtain visas for the host countries if required.

Applications will usually open between 6 - 8 months prior to the project start date, normally around October / November each year. To be considered for a place, applicants should submit their complete application form as soon as possible after applications open to ensure they are given priority consideration for limited places.

A wide variety of interesting and challenging projects are available through the European Project Semester including research projects, software development tasks, design projects and technological innovation challenges. Each semester new projects are announced that focus upon topics such as energy efficiency improvement, product design adaptation according different markets or cultural contexts or finding solutions related to game development problems.

Each student who completes an entire European Project Semester will receive 15 ECTS credits per semester when they return back home at the end of their project period abroad. If you wish to receive additional credits for your work then you need to contact your home institution's faculty coordinator before accepting your chosen project abroad.

An average length for an European Project Semester is 24 weeks long but this can vary depending on the nature of your chosen project task and its duration which may last anywhere from 12 – 24 weeks depending on individual circumstances and scheduling requirements established by both institutions involved in providing it i.e student university and program partner.

All participants should finance their own travel costs related with participating in an European Project Semester programme however all other tuition fees related with it are covered by partner providing it such as universities or companies under which you will be working on specific task during it.

Yes - Applicants should ensure that they have adequate personal health and liability insurance cover throughout their stay abroad whilst participating in an European Project Semester programme as these costs are not covered by programme itself.
