What does ELT mean in BUSINESS

An Executive Leadership Team (ELT) is a group of top executives responsible for making decisions and guiding the strategic direction of an organization. This team consists of senior managers who provide guidance and support to the rest of their organization, as well as feedback to upper management on how the organization is performing.

The Executive Leadership Team typically includes the CEO, COO, CFO, Chief Strategy Officer or Chief Operations Officer, if applicable, plus Vice Presidents of each major functional area such as sales, marketing, operations, finance and human resources. In larger companies there may be various department heads included in this group.

The responsibilities include setting overall organizational strategy; managing short-term tactical plans; overseeing all departments within an organization; monitoring financial performance; developing policies; defining risk appetite; creating budgets and forecasts; providing guidance on hiring practices; aligning technology investments with business objectives; resolving conflicts between departments; ensuring compliance with regulations; communicating to stakeholders; and improving customer service levels.

The team meets regularly to discuss areas where progress needs to be made or where goals have been met or exceeded. They set specific objectives that must be achieved by individual departments or groups within a given timeframe following strict corporate governance procedures. After discussing any issues that need attention they will make decisions together on how best to address them in order to move forward in achieving their business goals.

Having an effective executive leadership team can help an organization achieve its long-term goals faster and more efficiently by allowing for better decision-making processes with fewer potential blind spots when compared with traditional hierarchical structures.
