What does AFMA mean in AFRICAN

The Apostolic Faith Mission of Africa (AFMA) is a Pentecostal Christian denomination founded in 1908 with its headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa. It has spread across the African continent and today, AFMA has affiliates in 17 countries.

AFMA subscribes to biblical Christianity and believes that the Bible is inspired by God and infallible. They adhere to fundamental Christian doctrines such as salvation by faith through grace, the Trinity, the deity of Christ, and believers’ baptism by immersion.

There are several denominations affiliated with AFMA, such as Assemblies of God, United Pentecostal Church, International Fellowship of Christians and Churches (IFCC), Foursquare Gospel Church, and Elim Pentecostal Church.

AFMA was founded in 1908 by William J. Seymour, an American-born African pastor who traveled from California to South Africa to preach the gospel. Since then it has grown significantly throughout Africa.

AFMA is involved in various charitable activities both at home and abroad; offering humanitarian aid such as food programs, education scholarships for underprivileged children; helping build churches; providing medical care in various locations; offering disaster relief assistance to affected communities; etc.
