What does AAEM mean in VETERINARY

The American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AAEM) is a professional association for physicians in the field of electrodiagnostic medicine. It is dedicated to advancing and promoting the specialty through education, research, advocacy, public awareness, safe practices and ethical standards.

Activities promoted by the AAEM include education on electrodiagnostics, research into this area of medicine, advocating on behalf of members and patients who receive these services, raising public awareness about electrodiagnostics, providing guidelines for safe practices related to electrodiagnostics and upholding ethical standards related to this practice.

The AAEM has both medical doctor (MD) and doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) members who specialize in electrodiagnostics. These members include neurologists, physical therapists and other specialties that provide diagnostic testing or treatments related to electromedicine.

The AAEM offers a variety of resources to its members such as educational materials on current topics in electrodiagnostics, webinars featuring experts on issues related to this field and access to publications that focus on advancements made in electromedicine. Members can also take advantage of discounted registration fees at events hosted by the organization.

Any MD or DO who specializes in electrodiaiagnosis can apply for membership to the AAEM. Non-physician health professionals involved with delivering care based upon electrical analysis may also join as associate members.
