What does EFLS mean in FEDERATION

The European Federation of Local Solidarity (EFLS) is an international organization that promotes local social initiatives aimed at reducing poverty, inequality, and promoting social inclusion. This federation works closely with local communities in helping to develop and support initiatives that can help to address local needs.

The mission objectives of EFLS are to promote social responsibility, foster civic engagement, create solidarity between citizens and their governments, reduce poverty, increase access to education and health services, empower vulnerable groups within society such as women and people with disabilities and promote economic development.

EFLS provides technical assistance through its network of specialists in order to help local community organizations identify their needs and develop more effective approaches for tackling them. This includes advocating for policies at a national level that can improve the lives of those living in poverty or facing other disadvantages. Additionally, the federation facilitates dialogue between elected officials and communities so that stakeholders understand local issues better and can develop concrete solutions together.

Membership in EFLS is open to any organisation from anywhere in Europe whose activities relate to advancing social solidarity or responding to evolving global challenges such as poverty reduction or climate change. Member organisations also have voting rights at General Assembly meetings where decisions about the strategic direction of the organisation are made.

You can apply for membership by filling out an online application form on our website and providing us with information about your organisation’s activities relevant to advancing social solidarity or responding to global challenges such as poverty reduction or climate change. After this form has been reviewed by our team you will receive notification whether your application has been accepted.

Yes - if your organisation is accepted into EFLS it will be expected adhere strictly with ethical standards outlined by the federation including compliance with anti-discrimination rules; following principles set out by our Code of Conduct; respecting human rights; treating all members equally regardless ethnicity, religion etc.; ensuring transparency in relation financial matters; abiding by national legislation when carrying out activities; adhering environmental regulations etc.
