The EERC was created in 1945 to serve as a research foundation for the University of North Dakota. Since then, it has become an internationally-recognized renewable energy and environmental research center that works with a focus on scientific excellence in three major areas: oil & gas energy resources development; carbon management technologies; and environmental management solutions. The EERC has over 700 partners around the world that have invested more than $800 million in its work since its inception.
