What does ECLA mean in PHYSICS

The European Conference on Laboratory Astrophysics (ECLA) is a major event for the astrophysics community in Europe, held annually in various locations. It brings together leading experts from many fields of astronomy and astrophysics, including theory, observations, experimental techniques and instrumentation. The goal of the conference is to promote sharing of ideas and knowledge between different areas of astrophysics research, leading to new collaborative projects and advances in our understanding of the universe.

Usually, sessions last from one week up to ten days. As well as formal sessions with speakers presenting papers, poster sessions and round table discussions are also included so that participants can network freely with experts in their areas of interest.

Every year hundreds of scientists from all over Europe gather at ECLA conferences to share ideas about research topics related to laboratory astrophysics and related fields such as atmospheric science and planetary science. Delegates come from both academia institutions as well as private industry organizations worldwide.
