What does AFAP mean in MILITARY

The AFAP is a process which enables individuals connected to the army to voice any concerns they may have about various aspects of life within the army. It allows them to recommend solutions that can help improve their quality of life or those around them.

Anyone associated with the army such as active duty personnel, retirees, veterans, civilian employees and their families are eligible to submit an AFAP issue.

You can submit your issue by visiting the MyArmyOneSource website or any installation web page. Once you are logged in you can select the menu option ‘Submit/Track an Issue' which will take you through step-by-step instructions on submitting it. If possible provide specific dates, locations and names of people who can back up your claims when submitting your issue so it will be taken more seriously.

Once your issue is approved it will be forwarded onto members of the Installation Chain of Command (COC) working group who will review it along with other submitted issues. They'll decide whether action should be taken based on if they deem it a legitimate concern or if resources are already available at each echelon to address it before sending on any recommendationsto go up higher in command until they reach DCS G-1 (Developmental Personnel) where further analysis will proceed before anything else happens.

There isn't a limit but keep in mind that only valid issues reported with supporting evidence are likely to be accepted by COC working groups so think carefully when submitting any new cases as repeating previously rejected ones won't get them looked at again unless something changes significantly enough for reconsideration.
