What does DLRC mean in DISABILITY

The Disability & Learning Resource Center offers a variety of accommodations, services, programs, and resources that are designed to help students with disabilities access the same educational opportunities available to everyone else. This can include academic accommodations such as extended testing time or access to assistive technologies, individualized academic advising and tutoring services, referral services for accessing community-based disability support programs, and workshops on topics related to learning about disability rights and self-advocacy.

Students who have a documented disability recognized by law or policy are eligible to receive services from the DLRC. These can include conditions such as physical impairments; psychological issues such as depression or anxiety; learning disabilities such as dyslexia; developmental disorders like autism spectrum disorder; chronic illnesses like cerebral palsy; or other qualifying medical or mental health conditions.

The DLRC provides many of its services online through webinars, virtual meetings, tutorials etc., in addition to in-person sessions when it is safe to do so. Additionally, we have staff available virtually throughout standard business hours Monday through Friday for questions related to our service offerings.

Yes! Our staff is available for consultation regarding your specific disabilities needs when completing forms such as documentation request forms or requests for accommodations. We also offer workshops on self-identifying with a disability and navigating college admissions processes while identifying with a disability.

You should contact us whenever you feel you need guidance or support in regards to your education journey while living with a disability. Although we typically don't recommend “checking in” frequently unless your needs require it due to changes in medications/conditions that may affect your ability go engage successfully within your educational environment (ie., increased/decreased fatigue).
