What does DIP mean in TRANSPORTATION

A driver improvement program (DIP) is typically referred to as a traffic school or defensive driving course. It is a course designed to help drivers improve their driving skills and become safer, more responsible drivers.

Driver improvement programs are available for all licensed drivers regardless of experience. They can be taken by individuals who need to reduce their moving violation points or satisfy court requirements, or for those who simply want to improve their overall driving abilities.

Generally speaking you will only need proof that you passed the vision test and your valid driver's license; however, it is a good idea to check with your specific class’ instructor and/or provider prior to attending the class in order to ensure that you have everything you need.
