The Delhi Institute Of Fire Engineering (DIFE) was established in 1993 as part of the National Fire Service College (NFSC), Nagpur, by an Act of Parliament under the aegis of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. It is one of the oldest institutes to provide formal education and training in the field of Fire Engineering and Safety Technology in India. Initially, it provided basic training courses for personnel from various states such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh but over time its scope expanded to include courses which are recognized at national level including Post Graduate Diploma programmes for students across the country.
