In 2002, professional skater Stevie Williams founded Dirty Ghetto Kids (DGK) as an independent streetwear and skateboard company based in Philadelphia. Williams wanted to create a brand that moved past conventional trends to create something more substantial for people who grew up living city lifestyles in poverty-stricken areas.
