What does DGE mean in EDUCATIONAL

The Division of Graduate Education (DGE) provides support and resources to assist higher education institutions in expanding their capacity to develop and diversify their graduate student base. DGE also develops educational programs, works with partners to provide research experiences for graduate students, and works with external organizations to promote best practices in graduate education.

DGE provides a variety of services designed to help higher education institutions expand their capacity for developing and maintaining successful graduate programs. Services include program development assistance, grant writing aid, mentoring opportunities, professional development workshops, research experiences for students, access to industry experts, marketing tools, and support for networking and collaboration initiatives.

DGE can provide tailored services to assist you in building the curriculum and infrastructure necessary for your institution's success. This includes offering guidance on everything from program planning to developing learning outcomes as well as providing technical assistance for the implementation of those plans.

Participating in a sponsored research experience allows students to combine academic learning with real-world experience while gaining valuable insights into different fields of study. These projects give opportunities for hands-on application of theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom by working alongside industry professionals or conducting independent studies under close supervision by knowledgeable researchers within a chosen field.

Generally speaking, most projects require applicants to demonstrate mastery over course material related directly or indirectly related to the field they are interested in pursuing through prior coursework completed either at their home institution or through transfer credits from elsewhere. Requirements may differ depending on which project you are looking at so please refer directly to the project requirements when selecting your next opportunity!

Our goal is always an environment where student success is paramount; therefore we strive to provide comprehensive support both inside and outside the project itself. It is not uncommon for mentors assigned via our partner organization’s network to reach out directly with advice tailored specifically towards each student’s individual needs throughout the duration of their project term. Additionally most projects come equipped with supplemental online resources designed keep students up-to-date on progress made as well as any sudden changes that may occur during proceedings.
