What does DDPI mean in UNCLASSIFIED

The primary role of the Deputy Director of Public Instruction is to ensure that public instruction standards in their area are adequate, accessible and up-to-date. They supervise educational initiatives undertaken by state governments and also act as a liaison between Central Government departments and enforcement authorities such as police.

Generally, officers from Indian Administrative Service, State Education Service or Teaching cadre may apply for this post. However, certain states may have different eligibility criteria depending on their local requirements.

The minimum qualification required for applying for DDPI varies from state to state, but generally applicants require at least a Master's degree in Education or equivalent experience in educational administration. Academic achievements will be taken into consideration when shortlisting candidates.
