An Assistant District Prosecution Officer (ADPO) is responsible for representing the county or district in prosecuting felony and misdemeanor criminal cases in court. They work with local law enforcement to build cases against those accused of committing crimes and present their case to the court.

Becoming an ADPO usually requires a four-year college degree in criminal justice, law, political science, or other related field. In addition, many employers prefer candidates with prior experience working as prosecutors in the public sector. Additionally, some states may require potential ADPOs to pass a bar examination before they can be appointed to this role.
