What does AACS mean in SCHOOLS

The American Association of Christian Schools (AACS) is a network of independent, accredited member schools devoted to providing quality education from a biblical perspective. It was founded in 1974 as part of the National Association of Christian Schools and serves students from preschool through 12th grade.

As a member of AACS, schools receive access to many valuable resources. To qualify for membership with AACS, your school must be an elementary or secondary school officially registered as a non-profit organization in its state or country. Your denomination or church must also support the Biblical principles espoused by AACS and promote religious freedom in its educational practices.

Your school must pursue academic excellence that meets or exceeds the national standards established by regional accrediting agencies like AdvancED™ and/or those established by state board of education agencies like the State Boards of Education. In addition, all instructional staff members must meet applicable state standards for teachers along with any additional requirements set forth by your accreditation agency.

You will also need to submit supplemental documents such as organizational mission statements along with annual financial reports before we can review your request for membership approval.

That depends on what activities you mean—learning activities outside the confines of traditional classrooms are highly encouraged and supported among our members but we do not require any extra curricular commitments beyond what may already be required within each school’s individual curriculum structure.
