What does 'DC' Stand For?

DC stands for Detective Comics - the name of the comic book publishing company which was first established in 1934. In 1937, Detective Comics became the home of one of America’s most beloved superheroes - Batman. Over time, other iconic characters such as Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern and Aquaman were also added to DC's roster and are now among their most recognizable mascots.
