What are some examples of DBRC initiatives?

Our initiatives include research projects on educational technology, professional learning communities, collaborative frameworks for project-based learning, teacher leadership development, and other topics related to advancing effective educator practice. In addition we have also set out to create an online platform as well as offer in-person workshops to support our members.

How can I become a member of the DBRC?

To become a member of the DBRC you must fill out an application form available on our website and provide us with your contact information and area(s) of expertise. Once completed please submit it along with your CV/resume to [email protected]

Does membership cost anything?

No, becoming a member is free! The only costs associated with participation in the collective are those associated with travel expenses related to attending face-to-face meetings or workshops when they arise.

How often do the members meet?

Members typically meet virtually at least once a month if not more frequently depending upon their schedules. In addition any face-to-face meetings will be scheduled as needed or desired by members.

What kind of topics do DBRC members discuss during meetings?

Each meeting’s agenda will depend on what its members would like to focus on, but generally it includes discussing new findings from recent studies conducted by members; seeing how current research efforts can help inform future directions; addressing any challenges; brainstorming new projects; exploring potential collaborations; or providing support where possible.

Who leads the conversations during these meetings?

During each virtual or in-person meeting there will usually be one primary facilitator who is responsible for guiding the conversation but all participants are encouraged to contribute and share their ideas during each discussion so that everyone can benefit from each other’s perspectives.

Does DBRC have any other activities outside of meetups?

Yes! As mentioned earlier the collective has set out to create an online platform that offers free resources such as webinars or podcasts aimed at helping its members gain new insights into effective teaching methods or explore topics related to educational technology. In addition we also offer in-person workshops at select conferences throughout the year.

Are there opportunities for collaboration within the collective?

Absolutely! One of our main goals here at DBRC is to facilitate collaborations between experts in order to advance understanding around particular topics related educational practice. This means that we value working together in small groups towards achieving certain goals — whether they may be researching a topic or designing new materials — so that everyone involved has the opportunity benefit from this shared experience.
