What does CTRCM mean in NAVY

CTRCM stands for Cryptologic (Collection) Master Chief Petty Officer.

To become a CTRCM, sailors must first be promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer (E7). After that, they must demonstrate mastery of the skills required in their technical specialty, display leadership ability through their professional performance, and be selected by their commanding officer to pursue CPO induction training.

A CTRCM typically has responsibility for providing guidance on matters related to cryptology, leading technical projects and programs related to cryptology tasks and operations, delivering policy direction related to cryptology operations and initiatives, and representing the interests of the U.S. Navy's Cryptologic Community in official meetings or other public forums.

In order to become a CTRCM, applicants must possess at least seven years of experience in cryptological operations or have been assigned senior command level positions within this career field. They must also meet all physical fitness requirements mandated by the U.S Navy Concerning program participation in fitness activities such as swimming, running or biking may also be required depending on assignment/location duty location assignments as well as other medical standards established by the U.S Navy.

To become eligible for promotion consideration by Commander Naval Cyber Forces (CNCF), members of an Allied Air or Ground Force must be recommended by either their Commanding Officer or a Commanding Officer from another allied service who is aware of their qualifications and dedication. Additionally, recommendation from Reserve officers can also be accepted provided they are familiar with relevant operational background records.
