What does ADEC mean in DEVELOPMENT

Arts Development in East Cambridgeshire (ADEC) is a program that aims to promote and support the arts, culture and creative industries within the county. We provide grants and support services to help local artists, venues, organizations and businesses reach their full potential.

There are many ways you can become involved in ADEC. You can apply for a grant to start an art project or business venture; attend workshops or seminars hosted by us; join our network of creative professionals; or even volunteer in one of our programs.

Eligible projects include individual works that celebrate thearts, enhance public spaces, facilitate dialogue between diverse cultural groups or bring new perspectives to traditional forms of artistic expression. Projects should demonstrate a commitment to excellence and responsiveness to community needs.

Grants are available throughout the year and applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Applications must be submitted at least two months prior to the start date of your project/initiative in order for it to considered.

We typically host two workshops/seminars each quarter — so four times per year. These sessions cover topics such as creative marketing, networking strategies, funding sources and much more — all aimed at helping artists develop their craft and explore new opportunities.

ADEC helps foster collaboration between local businesses and communities through various incentives such as tax credits, networking opportunities and promotional materials. We also provide business mentorship services to help entrepreneurs develop their businesses.

No prior experience is required to be considered for our grants; however knowledge related to arts & culture is taken into consideration when making decisions about eligibility.
