What does CSPS mean in PLASTICS

The California Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS) is a professional association of board-certified plastic surgeons who specialize in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. Our mission is to advance the quality, safety, and efficacy of plastic surgery in California through education and advocacy.

CSPS is comprised of board-certified plastic surgeons, so if you’re a certified plastic surgeon in the state of California, membership is highly recommended. Additionally, anyone interested in advancing the field of plastic surgery and advocating for its practitioners should consider becoming an allied member.

To become a CSPS member, you must first fill out an application and submit it along with required documents such as proof of medical license and malpractice insurance. After your application has been reviewed and approved by CSPS members, you will submit payment for your membership dues.

By joining CSPS, you’ll gain access to exclusive online resources and educational opportunities designed to help you stay current on industry news and developments. You will also receive invitations to member-only events such as our annual symposium where you can network with other professionals in the field. In addition, being part of our society allows you to participate in legislative advocacy efforts to advance patient safety standards into state law.

Yes! Your membership will automatically renew each year unless you choose to opt-out before the expiration date. Renewal fees are due annually or pro-rated depending on when your initial payment was received. You will be sent reminders about upcoming renewal payments prior to their due date so that you never miss an opportunity to continue your membership with us!

There is an initial one-time fee plus annual dues that must be paid with each renewal period in order to maintain active status within the society. Please refer to our website for more information about pricing options based on various levels of membership (i.e., Fellow vs Associate).

As a condition for maintaining active status within CSPS, all members are required to take part in ongoing education related to topics related plastic surgery such as best practices, new techniques, etcetera at least once per year. All members must provide documentation that they have fulfilled these requirements upon renewal or risk suspension from the society until they can provide proof that they have met them again.

From time to time we do offer scholarships specifically designated for those dedicated to advancing their knowledge and skillset in plastic surgery via participation in conferences or programs not typically covered under standard tuition reimbursements or fellowship plans offered by hospitals or universities. We host various networking events throughout the year including conferences featuring renowned speakers from around the world speaking on topics relevant to today's modern surgical practice like patient safety protocols as well as advancements techniques released recently for various types surgeries within plastic surgery specialty. Additionally we also host smaller group meetings where practitioners can exchange ideas on best practices.
