What does CSOT mean in CANADIAN

The primary role of the CSOT is to promote and develop the profession of orthopaedic technology in Canada. This involves advocating for higher standards in orthopaedic practice, providing education and training opportunities, and recognizing practitioners who adhere to the highest level of ethical conduct.

Membership is open to any individual who has an interest in or is actively engaged in orthopedic technology. This includes those with previous experience in the field, current practitioners, those looking to enter into positions within orthopedics, students, trainers, educators and suppliers.

Members receive access to exclusive educational resources as well as networking opportunities with other practitioners. Additionally, there are opportunities for continuing education credits and certification programs that are only available through membership with the CSOT.

All members must agree to abide by the Code Of Ethics outlined by the CSOT which requires all members to demonstrate professional competence at all times, respect patients' privacy and dignity, protect confidential information related to patients' care and maintain professional relationships with their peers.

There are several different ways you can get involved with the Canadian Society of Orthopaedic Technologists including but not limited to attending meetings or events organized by the society, volunteering on committees or task forces or even serving on a board liaison position.
