Together they establish short-term goals and long-term strategies while overseeing organizational operations on a daily basis.

Does CSL accept monetary donations?

Yes! We deeply appreciate donations in any amount – large or small – because they allow us to continue providing much needed resources and support to our local fishing communities in a responsible way! All donations received are tax deductible as allowed by law as we are recognized by other federal governments as an eligible charity organization (IRS EIN# 83-3722143). Currently we have two grant programs available for applicants– the Small Business Assistance Grant Program which offers grants up to $15K/year per business along with opportunities for microfinancing loans up to $25K/business; And secondly we have our Local Fisheries Support Grant Program which awards grants up to $10k/year per applicant working within fisheries around the state of Maine. Additionally we offer scholarships each year for high school seniors going into postsecondary studies focused on Marine Sciences or Fisheries Management OR incoming freshman who are continuing their studies at Colby College or University of Maine Machias (or select satellite campuses).
