What does ADB mean in UNCLASSIFIED

An Automatic Door Bottom (ADB) is an automatic seal used to close gaps at the bottom of a door. It helps limit air leaks, dust, and water from entering through the space between a door and its threshold.

An ADB is typically comprised of two 'blades' which open outward towards the floor when the door opens and closes inward against it when it's closed. This creates a tight seal that limits air leakage, keeps out dust, and prevents water intrusion into the building or home.

Most standard types of doors including hinged doors, sliding doors, revolving doors, folding doors and double acting doors can be fitted with ADBs. Some models may require special mounting or sealing beams for installation depending on the type of door being used.

Most ADBs feature neoprene rubber with resilient fins combined with steel components for durability. Neoprene provides flexibility while steel helps ensure longevity in even harsh conditions like high traffic areas or extreme temperature changes.

In general no maintenance routine is necessary but it's important to inspect them regularly to make sure they're still functioning properly - specifically checking if they're spring-loaded correctly so they properly open and close when needed. If debris collects near their track they should be cleared away using compressed air or vacuum cleaner so they operate correctly.
