What does CPBA mean in BASEBALL

The Camarillo Pony Baseball Association (CPBA) is a non-profit organization established to promote youth baseball in the Camarillo community. We offer organized youth baseball leagues for players ages 4-14 years old. Our mission is to provide a safe, fun, and encouraging environment where young people can learn and grow through playing the game of baseball.

Registration for the season typically opens in January/February before the season starts. You can register your child either by printing off an application found on our website or at one of our sign up events scheduled throughout the year. Sign up event dates can also be found on our website.

Each player should have their own bat, glove, and batting helmet. Uniforms are provided by CPBA and must be returned at the end of each season. Cleats are recommended but not required. All catchers will need to provide their own chest protector and catcher’s mask/helmet.

All our teams are coached by volunteers from within our community who have a passion for teaching kids about the game of baseball. Our coaches are dedicated to helping each player develop their skills both on and off the field while emphasizing good sportsmanship as well as team unity and pride.

Practices usually begin 2 weeks before game day begins; however, this information is communicated directly with your coach once your team has been formed after registration closes.

Yes! We always have exciting events during our season such as opening ceremonies, division playoffs/championships, Coach Pitch tournaments, pitch nights featuring professional MLB-affiliated players, an end-of-season all-star tournament and a celebratory closing ceremony at season's end that features awards & trophies.

While we welcome parent/guardian volunteers when possible, we understand how busy life can be! In order for us to continue offering quality programs throughout the year we do encourage families who are able to join us in volunteering their time with various task such as umpiring games or managing concessions at tournaments etc.

Based on age group we offer four distinct divisions within CPBA; T-Ball (4&5 yrs old), Coach Pitch (6&7 yrs old), Minor (8&9 yrs old) and Major (10 – 14yrs old). Generally speaking each division has its own set rules dictated by Little League International standards for tee ball & coach pitch divisions with additional considerations specific to CPBA being added based on skill level for minor & major leagues.

Due to strict roster size limitations imposed by Little League International regulations it’s highly unlikely new players would be added mid-season unfortunately.
